The military collection of hand knitting patterns covers history from the late 1800’s to present day.

Joyce uses these to knit from providing a unique service to museums and re-enactors. Many of the patterns are very rare and it I one of the largest, if not the largest collection outside a museum.
She has just completed a commission for the Mountain Heritage Trust, re-creating all of the hand knitted garments worn by George Mallory on his last Everest climb in 1924. These are to be tested on Everest to see how they perform in the weather conditions.
