The military collection of hand knitting patterns covers history from the late 1800’s to present day. WW1 front line jumper Joyce uses these to knit from providing a unique service to museums and re-enactors. Many of the patterns are very rare and it I one of the largest, if not the largest collection outside a museum. She has just completed a commission for the Mountain Heritage Trust, re-creating all of the hand knitted garments worn by George Mallory on his last Everest climb in 1924.
