| The
military collection of hand knitting patterns covers history
from the late 1800’s to present day. |
 |

WW1 front line jumper |
Joyce
uses these to knit from providing a unique service to museums
and re-enactors. Many of the patterns are very rare and it
I one of the largest, if not the largest collection outside
a museum. |
| She has
just completed a commission for the Mountain Heritage Trust,
re-creating all of the hand knitted garments worn by George
Mallory on his last Everest climb in 1924. These are to be
tested on Everest to see how they perform in the weather conditions. |
